Antiphellos Ancient City is among the most important historical ruins of Kaş.
The ancient theater, which is located in the ruins of the ancient city, has managed to reach the present day in a very complete and solid state. The theater has a capacity of 4000 people and was built in the 1st century BC and was repaired in the 2nd century AD.
The ancient theater, which is a 5-minute walk from the center of Kaş, is used for various artistic events from time to time.
The theater is very close to the sea due to its location. The unique feature of the building is that it is the only theater among the ancient theaters in Anatolia, whose front was built towards the sea.
The baselica is next to the theatre. Only a small part of the walls that once surrounded Antiphellos has survived. In addition to these, there are Lycian inscriptions, rock tombs and tombstones reminiscent of Gothic style on the slope of the mountain in the northeast of the city, as well as the Lion Sarcophagus (Mausoleum with Lycian inscription) located behind the city, and a 3.70-meter-high home-style tomb decorated with reliefs of 24 girls in the northeast of the amphitheater. exists. During the summer months, daily tours are organized by boats and minibuses to the historical and touristic places around Kas. In addition, the Blue Cruise lasts 3 days and 3 nights.
Near the theater, there is a doric-style tomb in the form of a house, which belongs to the 4th century BC, called Akdam. This structure was made by cutting a natural rock. The height of the building is 3.5 meters and there are figures of dancing girls on its inner walls. In addition, there is a temple built using cut stone on the Hospital Street in the ancient city. It was determined that the stones used in the foundation of the temple were made during the Roman Period.
There is also a water cistern at the entrance of the marina. This cistern has survived from the Lycian period.
